Sunless tanning involves applying a fine mist of tanning solution to your skin. The active ingredient, DHA, reacts with proteins in your skin to develop a golden-brown tan. Results appear within 2-3 hours and continue to develop over 24 hours.
Your sunless tan will typically last 5-7 days, depending on skin care and how you care for the tan. Using our take-home products can extend the life of your tan.
Certainly! We offer a range of take-home products designed specifically to enhance and prolong spray tan results. Using over-the-counter products not intended for sunless tanning can potentially block the tan's application, hinder its development, and lead to uneven fading.
Our clear solution is a formula that begins showing results within 8-12 hours, reaching its peak color in about 24 hours. We also offer an Instant
Bronzer option for immediate color results.
For best results, we advise waiting at least 4 hours after your session, or ideally 8 hours, to allow the DHA to fully set. Showering too soon could
reduce the tan's intensity. If you opted for an Instant Cosmetic Color option, it will wash off in the shower, while the DHA-induced color will
remain.
While showering, use a gentle body wash or soap that is fragrance-free and produces low suds. Other types of soap may strip away your color or
result in uneven and splotchy tan. Avoid using exfoliants like loofah sponges or rough washcloths during your tan's lifespan. Save full body
exfoliation for after your tan has faded completely.
A sunless tan does not provide protection against sunburn from natural sunlight or UV exposure in tanning beds, unlike a base tan. Please take
appropriate precautions when exposed to UV light indoors or outdoors. If you opt for cocktail tanning, we can provide guidance and assistance.
Cocktail tanning (also known as double-dipping) involves tanning in a UV bed just before a spray tan session. UV rays stimulate melanin
production, open pores, and enable the sunless solution to penetrate the skin deeply. This results in a darker, deeper, and longer-lasting tan.
The sunless solution is fully water soluble. Any initial cosmetic color on the inside of your clothes can be washed out with cold water. However,
please note that the DHA in the tanning formula may cause lasting stains on clothing (such as swimsuits or undergarments) worn during your
session.
No, not at all. Before Sunless Spray Tanning, most self-tanners were creams and lotions applied by hand, leading to inconsistent coverage.
Applying too much in one area could result in orange skin, while too little could cause unattractive streaks. Sprays provide even, 360-degree
coverage to avoid these issues. We promise you won’t wind up looking like Ross from that episode of Friends!
A few hours after a tanning session, some people may notice a mild starchy scent on their skin. This is caused by the DHA reacting with proteins
in the skin and typically dissipates shortly.
Exposure to chlorinated or salt water can diminish the effectiveness of your Sunless Spray tan, leading to possible streaking and a shorter tan
lifespan. However, routine activities like bathing, showering, or engaging in physical activities will not impact the quality of your tan.
